Review:
Don’t Cross the Line is a family-friendly Puzzle game released on the Nintendo DSi via the DSiWare service in 2010, and later grandfathered into the Nintendo 3DS eShop when the Nintendo 3DS released. In this game, players connect matching boxes by drawing lines from one to another using the touchscreen.
The presentation here is fairly simple, with the visuals just having a small group of 2D boxes with different designs on them, your own scribbles, and inexplicably an image of a tree on the top screen. This is backed by somewhat juvenile and slightly annoying background music.
For the gameplay, this game is something like a cross between the board game Operation and Connect The Dots, where you need to figure out the proper way to connect the boxes without touching the walls or other lines. Players try to do so as quickly as possible.
That’s… pretty much all there is to it. At the very least some of the puzzle design here is good, but there’s not really too much else to say here. For $2, Don’t Cross the Line is a perfectly adequate Puzzle Game, but not likely to be anything truly exciting. You may find it worth trying out if you want to fill out your Puzzle Game collection.
tl;dr – Don’t Cross the Line is a family-friendly Puzzle game where players connect matching boxes by drawing lines from one to another using the touchscreen. This is a perfectly adequate Puzzle Game, but not an especially exciting one. Still, for $2, this may be worth your while.
