Review:

Cosmo Rally!! is a Top-Down Racing game released on the Nintendo DSi via the DSiWare service in 2015, as well as being made available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This game has players racing on futuristic tracks trying to get the best time possible.

The presentation in this game is decent, using pixel art visuals that get the job done but are somewhat repetitive. This is backed by a simple synthesized soundtrack that almost sounds a bit minimalist. There’s not much here to underline the thrill of racing beyond the speed of the action itself.

As for the racing, this game is pretty much just single-vehicle races on narrow winding paths. There are no other opponents on the track, no hazards, nothing to add variety. If you leave the track, you’re penalized in time based on how much of the track you skip, and players are given three attempts to get the best time on each track (of which there appear to be only twelve in the game).

As racing games go, Cosmo Rally!! Is pretty bare-bones. It’s decent enough at what it’s aiming to do, but it’s aiming for such a low bar that this isn’t really anything worth celebrating. If you’re looking for a Top-Down Racing game on the Nintendo 3DS for only $2, this will get the job done, but it won’t do anything to set itself apart or be particularly memorable in any way.

tl;dr – Cosmo Rally!! is a Top-Down Racing game where players race on futuristic tracks to try to get the best time. This is a serviceable entry in the genre, but one that does absolutely nothing particularly interesting or memorable.
