Review:
Hazumi is a family-friendly Arcade-style game with Puzzle elements released on Nintendo 3DS in 2014. In this game, players control the horizontal movement of a ball that is constantly bouncing vertically, aiming to use that ball to clear out all of the breakable blocks on the screen.
The presentation here is pretty appealing, using 2D pixel art visuals with some nice little details, backed by a catchy upbeat chiptune theme. It’s nothing truly extraordinary, but it works well enough for the game.
When it comes to the gameplay, this mix of Arcade elements and Puzzle elements is also something that works well enough without being anything truly extraordinary. Players can break any block that is the same color their ball is, with some blocks changing the player’s ball’s color.Knowing this, they have to guide their ball through each level, sometimes avoiding hazards, to try to break all of the blocks as quickly as they can.
This is one of those games where there’s not too much more to say about it. Hazumi is decent enough, but nothing truly spectacular. For a mere $3, Hazumi is a decent time-waster. Just don’t expect it to be anything truly outstanding.
tl;dr – Hazumi is a family-friendly Arcade-style game with Puzzle elements where players guide a ball through the game’s levels to try and break all of the boxes in that level. It’s nothing truly extraordinary, but for $3, this is a decent time-waster.
