Review:

Vektor Wars is a First-Person Shooter with a distinctive look modeled after classic vector-based videogames that many will likely associate with Tempest or Tron.

Man, I really wanted to like this one, but the gameplay here is so simple, basic, and repetitive, the enemies are simple-minded, and the act of shooting in this game just feels strange. On top of that, the game does a poor job of indicating where you’re getting shot from when you take a hit.

Even the game’s graphics, arguably its biggest selling point, disappoint in places. While the levels themselves look stylish and imaginative, enemies look extremely generic, and the actual gunfire just looks awful.

I know the Switch is really hurting for quality First-Person Shooters, but Vektor Wars is just too basic to serve as much more than a brief distraction, and even then it falters in areas.

tl;dr – Vektor Wars is a FPS with a nice Tron-like aesthetic and not much else going for it. Simple, repetitive gameplay makes this little more than a brief distraction.

Grade: C-
