Review:

Vosaria is an Action-Platformer that has you as a gun-toting militaristic grunt in the future heading down into a cave full of monstrous creatures to investigate the disappearance of the prior teams… but mostly just to blast stuff.

This game uses a gravity-switching mechanic where, instead of jumping, your character’s gravity reverses, and players must utilize this to make their way past hazards while fighting enemies.

The action in this game is decent, but doesn’t really stand out in any way. In fact, at times the way the game limits ammo is frustrating and makes combat slower and more tedious.

However, my biggest issue with this game is that it frequently puts players in one of a few situations where damage is virtually unavoidable. Either you’ll be in a narrow pathway with spikes on both top and bottom and only the smallest space between them to fit in, meaning odds are good you’ll be damaged. Conversely, the room you’re in could be so large that you can’t see the top or bottom of it, requiring you to make a leap of faith to proceed… and usually a leap that puts you right onto a floor full of spikes. Time after time in this game I took damage from lousy level design, which was extremely frustrating.

Graphically, this game is… well, ugly. The pixel art style is decent enough, but character designs are unattractive and don’t seem to have much thought or effort put into them.

With a little more effort put into various elements of this game, Vosaria could have been a fun little Action-Platformer. However, as-is, the issues with frustratingly limited ammo, terrible level design, and ugly visuals make this game hard to enjoy.

tl;dr – Vosaria is an Action-Platformer where instead of jumping, you reverse gravity, while exploring ever deeper into a cave and shooting at monsters. Unfortunately, this game has a number of issues that make it hard to enjoy, such as really poor level design and ugly visuals.
