Review:
Zombie Scrapper, released on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch in 2019, is a 2-Stick Shooter that has players fighting off endless hordes of zombies, collecting scrap, and gradually upgrading their character’s abilities and equipment.
The presentation here is pretty abysmal, featuring some ugly hand-drawn visuals with poor animation, a dull and forgettable soundtrack, and a lot of repetitive zombie groaning and squishing noises when you take one of them out.
As for the gameplay, while I say this is a 2-Stick Shooter, players will likely spend a good amount of their time using their character’s melee attack to conserve ammunition. This attack is slow, clumsy, and takes multiple hits to down zombies, but that hardly matters as the zombies are so slow you can easily run them in circles while you pick away at them.
The gameplay here is dull and monotonous, and while there’s some progression in the form of upgradeable abilities and unlockable equipment upgrades, these upgrades come so slowly and make so little difference that it doesn’t do much to enhance the gameplay.
Zombie Scrapper is, quite simply, a bad game. It’s slow, ugly, clumsy, and has glacial progression. There are countless other better 2-Stick Shooters on the Nintendo Switch, play one of them instead.
tl;dr – Zombie Scrapper is a 2-Stick Shooter where players fight zombies. The gameplay here is slow, dull, and monotonous, the presentation is ugly, and the progression moves at a glacial pace. Don’t bother with this game.
