Review:

Zombillie is an Arcade-style Puzzle game that has players moving a giant carnivorous caterpillar through the game’s levels aiming to eat all of the pickups in that level without getting trapped by your own growing body.

The presentation here is a bit of a mixed bag. Everything is portrayed in a way that’s kinda’ gross, which wasn’t really something that appealed to me, but I have to say that the caterpillar himself moves in a smooth, well-animated fashion. The backgrounds aren’t always all that clear, but I suppose at least they’re not lacking in personality. And the game’s soundtrack is okay but mostly pretty forgettable, but the munching noises the caterpillar makes as he moves around are amusing.

As for the gameplay, this is mostly a pretty standard meshing of something like Pac-Man with something like Snake, with players trying to think ahead and not be trapped by their own growing tail of a body. It’s not bad, but there’s not much here that truly stands out either.

I will note one complaint, though – this game’s controls are frustratingly sluggish, and there’s a bit of delay whenever you try to input a direction. Part of this is due to the caterpillar’s sluggish movement, but even putting that aside there seems to be a sort of input lag going on here.

Overall, Zombillie is a decent Arcade-style Puzzle game that benefits from a good presentation (if you don’t mind the somewhat disgusting themes of the game), but suffers from sluggish controls. It’s not bad, but there’s nothing truly spectacular going on here.

tl;dr – Zombillie is an Arcade-style Puzzle game that has you munching your way through mazes while avoiding your own growing body. It’s a decent but unspectacular entry in the genre, with some good presentation elements but sluggish controls. Not bad, but not great.
