Review:
Tap Skaters is an Arcade-style game where you play as a skateboarder riding down a series of platforms. Your only input is to move down, and then based on the direction the platform is tilted, you’ll move left or right. Using this, you must continue downward and keep from crashing into obstacles while collecting bonuses.
The game adds variety in the form of different skins for skaters and levels, as well as different goals, but it all still amounts to “move down, avoid obstacles, collect bonuses.”
Which is fine, I suppose. Even a simple game can be fun. But something about the way the game is designed doesn’t feel as intuitive as I’d like. I can look down and see which way the next platform is leaning, but judging that and making a snap decision in a fraction of a second, and then again, and again, isn’t the sort of thing that comes naturally.
In the end, Tap Skaters is a simple game that more or less works, but just doesn’t have that addictive quality you’d want in a game like this. There are others that are probably more worth your time.
tl;dr – Tap Skaters is an Arcade-style game where you’re moving down an endless series of tilted platforms, judging when to move based on the direction they’re tilted. It’s simple, repetitive, and not really as addictive as you’d want for a game like this.
