Review:

The Office Quest is a Graphic Adventure set in a soul-crushing office where everyone inexplicably wears various animal costumes. Players take the role of a blank-faced worker who one day sees a strange glowy, floaty object and must navigate the office to follow it. This leads to a series of misadventures as the guy must find clever ways to navigate past bosses, barter with co-workers for things you need, and otherwise find ways past obstacles.

This game’s sense of humor is delightfully dry and clever. There’s no dialogue here, everything is done via pantomime, yet all of it is pretty clear and straightforward, as anyone who’s worked in an office can probably identify the sort of archetypes and situations caricatured in this game.

The game’s visuals are nothing special – the game has a simple, cartoony style presented largely in sepia-tinged monochrome, and it’s fine but nothing special.

As for the game’s puzzles, they toe the line between clever and frustrating mostly fairly well. There are definitely some unclear goals and bizarre logic in puzzles here (some fans have dubbed this “Sierra Logic”, after defunct game-maker Sierra, who was infamous for it), but in most cases solutions aren’t too hard to figure out.

In the end, Office Quest isn’t an outright spectacular Graphic Adventure, but it is mostly pretty decent, with a good sense of humor. Fans of the genre may want to give it a look.

tl;dr – The Office Quest is a Graphic Adventure game with a good sense of humor, although the presentation is a bit flat and the game does have occasional puzzles with goals and solutions that aren’t always clear to the player. It’s overall a decent entry in the genre.

Grade: C+
