Review:
Sakura in Gameland is a Platformer released on Nintendo Switch in 2021. I… don’t even know what else to put in the intro here. You play a girl with a gun (or a wand that looks like a gun), there’s supposedly an evil wizard. Yeah.
Sakura in Gameland features 2D pixel art visuals that are very repetitive and not especially well-made. This is backed by an annoying, repetitive synthesized soundtrack that you will want to mute within minutes of starting the game.
Okay, I’ll just get right to it – this is a miserable game. It’s repetitive, the level design is uninspired, the gameplay is tedious and boring, the enemies are mindless and provide zero challenge, and the game overcompensates for this lack of challenge by forcing you to restart the entire agonizingly long and at times mazelike level after only taking a few points of damage.
There is nothing of value in Sakura in Gameland that you can’t find done much, much better in countless other Platformers on Nintendo Switch. Do not waste your time and money on this game.
.
tl;dr – Sakura in Gameland is a terrible Platformer with boring gameplay, terrible level design, repetitive visuals, mindless enemies, and which forces you to restart the entire mind-numbing level after taking just a few hits. Do not get this game.
