Review:

Slime-San is a Platformer with a focus on platforming challenge, like Celeste and Super Meat Boy. Your character can jump, wall-jump, air-dash, and use a special “slime” skill that slows down time and allows you to pass through some surfaces. By combining these abilities, you need to get from the entrance of each room to the exist before a tide of stomach acid catches up to you.

Oh, yeah, about that, you play a ball of slime sliding farther down the throat of a giant snakelike creature, and throughout your journey, you meet the other residents of the creature’s innards, including other critters it’s swallowed, as well as anthopomorphic body organs. Yeah, it’s weird.

The presentation is… I’m not a fan. Using a limited color palette and a pixelated art style, the game goes for a kind of nostalgic look that I don’t think quite connects, although on the bright side the game does at least have a catchy chiptune soundtrack.

However, in the end, the focus here is on the challenging platforming, and Slime-San game does that very well, with good controls, good physics, and a decent amount of variety. If you’re looking for another decent platforming challenge on the Switch, Slime-San should be worth a look.

tl;dr – Slime-San is a challenging Platformer, with the emphasis on “challenge”, where you’re running, dodging, wall-jumping, and “sliming” your way to the exit. I had mixed feelings about the presentation, but the gameplay is strong in any case.
