Review:
Spellworm is a Puzzle game where players direct a worm through 100 word search puzzles, ensuring that the worm eats letters in an order that spells words that fit that puzzle’s theme.
The presentation here is pretty basic. There’s not much personality to it, it’s just flat colors and primitive hand-drawn characters. This comes with forgettable music that at least isn’t overbearing while you’re solving the game’s puzzles.
As for the gameplay… I mean, there’s not really much to say here. Within the first five seconds watching gameplay video of this game you’ll probably know exactly how it’s played. It’s not bad, but it’s not groundbreaking or inventive either. The game throws in a few new elements here and there to shake things up, like holes that transport your worm across the level, but for the most part this is all pretty standard and predictable.
For the price of $2, those who are looking for a safe, unambitious Puzzle game likely won’t be disappointed with Spellworm. It does exactly what it sets out to do, nothing more, nothing less. But don’t expect anything particularly compelling here either.
tl;dr – Spellworm is a Puzzle game that has you moving a worm through word search puzzles, spelling out words. This game has a boring presentation and predictable gameplay, but it doesn’t do anything especially bad either, outside of being pretty forgettable. If you’re looking for an inexpensive Puzzle game to kill some time, you could do worse.
