Review:

Surfingers is an Arcade-style game where you play as a surfer riding the waves, with you moving the wave you’re on up and down to avoid obstacles and match the next segment of waves coming up.

It’s a fairly simple interface, but unfortunately the game is too difficult despite its simplicity. This is largely because the game goes a bit too fast, and every time you manage to get your wave to the level it needs to be, the game zooms you ahead to the next one instead of keeping things at a consistent speed.

It’s a pity too, because the presentation here is pretty good, with colorful and cartoony visuals, and music that’s clearly trying to be as close as it can to Misirlou without getting sued for copyright infringement.

Still, even if it has a good presentation and an appealing premise, the high challenge level means that few will want to play Surfingers for very long before ditching it for something not as punishing. Those looking for a fun, simple game have plenty of better choices on the Switch.

tl;dr – Surfingers is a simple game where you’re moving a surfer up and down on waves to dodge obstacles and match the level of the next wave. It has a great presentation, but is overly difficult to the point that it saps the fun out of the game.
