Review:

Swim Out is a Puzzle game has the premise that you are in a swimming pool trying to get out without bumping into anyone else or any hazards. As such, you must judge their movements to determine the route to take so you can avoid them, with each move you make causing the others to move as well, in various predictable patterns.

It’s a fairly simple and straightforward premise that is gradually complicated as the game goes on by introducing new types of swimmers and hazards. It makes for a decent enough puzzle challenge, but there was nothing here I found especially compelling or noteworthy in the gameplay. It’s… okay.

At the very least, the presentation here is nice, and the theme is a surprisingly refreshing one. Everything is represented with simple designs and simple reds and blues, and the game’s sound and music are gentle and easygoing, giving the game a bit of an abstract, mellow feel. The water also has a bit of subtle animation as well. Nothing special, but it works well enough.

If you’re a puzzle fan looking for a nice distraction, Swim Out manages to hit that spot well enough, and approaches the genre from a unique direction. It’s not especially compelling, but it works well enough.

tl;dr – Swim Out is a Puzzle game where you’re trying to move a swimmer to an exit without colliding with anyone, and every move you make causes the others in the pool to move as well. It’s a simple premise with a nice presentation, but there’s nothing especially compelling here.
