Review:

(Note: Some of the games included in this bundle are also in other bundles. Rock ‘N Racing Bundle Off Road & Grand Prix, Rock ‘N Racing Bundle Grand Prix & Rally, and Rock ‘N Racing Bundle Off Road & Rally each contain two out of the three games in this bundle. If any of this seems confusing, you may want to consult with the handy chart on this page.)

Rock ‘N Racing Bundle 3 in 1, released on Nintendo Switch in 2021, is a Compilation of three Racing games: Rock ‘N Racing Off Road DX, Grand Prix Rock ‘N Racing, and Rally Rock ‘N Racing, each separately released on the Nintendo Switch in 2017, 2018 and 2019, respectively.

Here’s what I thought of each of the games in this collection:

GameGenre# of PlayersGrade
Rock ‘N Racing Off Road DXTop-Down Racing1-4 Competitive (Local)F
tl;drRock ‘N Racing Off Road DX is a Top-Down Racing game in the same vein as Super Off-Road. Unfortunately, the controls here are broken beyond recognition, making it less a race against other vehicles and more of a struggle with your own vehicle. Do not buy this game.
Grand Prix Rock ‘N RacingTop-Down Racing1-4 Competitive (Local Split-Screen)D+
tl;drGrand Prix Rock ‘N Racing is a Top-Down Racing game that has players racing F1 cars with a visual style that looks a lot like a scale model. While the presentation here is charming, the gameplay is so stiff and unforgiving that it’s hard to enjoy this game. I recommend you skip it and save yourself the trouble.
Rally Rock ‘N RacingArcade Racing1-4 Competitive (Local Split-Screen)C
tl;drRally Rock ‘N Racing is an Arcade-style Racing game that’s only partly a rally-style Racing game. This is largely a decent but unspectacular entry in the genre – it’s flawed, but not in any way that outright ruins the game, and the gameplay is okay, but doesn’t really stand out in any way.

In short, what we have here is one average but unspectacular Arcade-style Rally Racing game, and two terrible Top-Down Racing games. Unlike the other Rock ‘N Racing bundles, this collection will actually save you $5 over the cost of buying each of these games separately (the other Rock ‘N Racing bundles actually cost more than buying the games separately), but it’s still a pretty terrible collection – when the highlight of the bunch is mediocre at best, it’s hard to see any reason you’d want to buy this bundle.

If you’re really hurting for a Racing game on Nintendo Switch, you have plenty of better options. You might enjoy Rally Rock ‘N Racing, but you can buy that game separately. As a package, Rock ‘N Racing Bundle 3 in 1 is just too devoid of quality to be worth getting.

tl;dr – Rock ‘N Racing 3 in 1 Bundle is a Compilation of three Racing games, the decent but unspectacular Rally Rock ‘N Racing, the terrible Grand Prix Rock ‘N Racing, and the atrociously bad Rock ‘N Racing Off Road DX. None of these games is especially worthwhile on their own, and bundling them together doesn’t make them any better, even if you save $5 by buying them as a package. Do yourself a favor and save $25 by not buying them at all.

Grade: D+
