Review:
Monster Puzzle is a character-based Puzzle game where you move a monster around a level trying to collect all of that level’s pickups before reaching the rocket ship that marks the exit.
Visually, this game is ugly, with an extremely low-poly presentation that makes it difficult to tell what the characters in the game are even supposed to be. The game’s chiptune soundtrack fares a bit better, though it’s completely forgettable.
As for the gameplay, this is a game that feels completely lacking any sort of originality. If you’ve played any character-based puzzle game, you’ve pretty much got the idea how this works – move your character around the screen in the right order so you can solve the puzzle. That’s it.
Sadly, this game can’t even settle for just mediocrity, as it has a few issues. The character movement speed here is agonizingly slow, and for some reason the game doesn’t allow you to use the D-Pad to move.
I cannot think of a single reason to get Monster Puzzle instead of the multitude of other similar games that are much better. it looks ugly, has zero originality, and is tediously slow with frustrating control. The only thing that saves this game from being completely worthless is that it still technically works, although that’s a pretty low bar to aim for.
tl;dr – Monster Puzzle is a character-based Puzzle game that does nothing especially interesting, looks terrible, and has frustratingly slow gameplay. There are numerous other games just like this that have much more to offer you.
