Genre: Picross Puzzle
Players: 1

Review:
Pic-A-Pix Pieces is basically just Picross with a multi-colored palette. At the top and side of the field you have colored numbers indicating how many of that color appear in that line or column. Using these as clues, you must figure out which colors go where to fill them in. Doing so creates a picture.
The game is presented with NES-style retro graphics and similarly retro chiptune music. It’s nothing special, but nothing especially distracting or offensive either. It’s just… fine.
In the end, knowing the premise of the game and looking at a few screenshots, it should be easy enough to discern whether or not this sort of game interests you.
As for what differentiates Pic-A-Pic Pieces from Pic-A-Pic Deluxe, Pieces uses multiple game boards combined to create larger pictures, while Deluxe’s pictures are self-contained to individual puzzles. That’s all.
In my eyes, Pic-A-Pix Pieces makes for a nice, easygoing, bite-size puzzle game that seems like it would be a good time-waster, especially if you’re bringing the Switch with you on the bus or in a waiting room. Don’t expect anything mind-blowing, but it’s a nice little game for what it’s worth.
tl;dr – Pic-A-Pix Pieces is a nice, easygoing, bite-size puzzle game that’s basically Picross with multiple colors, with the puzzles combining to make a larger picture (as opposed to Pic-A-Pic Deluxe’s individual pictures). It doesn’t do anything especially impressive, but it works as a nice time-waster.
