Review:

Kentucky Robo Chicken is a Platformer that has you flapping your way through linear, challenging stages that play like obstacle courses, each challenging the player to collect a number of cogs and reach the ending without hitting an obstacle.

The presentation here is a mix of good and bad qualities. On the one hand, the characters seem to animate surprisingly well, and the game’s levels are appropriately colorful. On the other hand, the character designs are all pretty ugly, looking like they were designed quickly and without much thought. The game’s music is pretty decent, but doesn’t fit well into the game and blasts over the sounds of the gameplay.

As for the gameplay itself, the stages are simple and unimaginative, and the gameplay is sluggish and your movements feel far too dictated by momentum to be very fun – all of the “challenge” here comes from how terrible your character is to control, which isn’t very fun.

Overall, Kentucky Robo Chicken just doesn’t have much to offer – it’s at best a mediocre Platformer on a console loaded with quality Platformers. It’s not horrible, but there’s nothing here that makes it worth bothering with.

tl;dr – Kentucky Robo Chicken is a challenging Platformer that has you flapping your way through obstacle courses collecting cogs and avoiding obstacles. It’s not horrible, but it’s not very good either, and the challenge of the gameplay comes mostly from its terrible controls. Don’t bother with it.
