Review:
I’m not a huge fan of the auto-runner genre, but every now and then one comes along that makes me stand up and take notice.
This… is not that game.
The best I can say about this title is, it’s competent. It’s an auto-runner, the objectives are clear, the controls are straightforward, it does everything it needs to do to work, except being fun or compelling in any way.
Like other games in the genre, you are constantly marching forward, and in this case you must either jump/fly or swing your sword at oncoming obstacles. In some cases both.
The game has a faux NES-style presentation, but to be honest, I think I’d find this game ugly even compared to other NES games. The animation is stale, the characters are monotone, and the background is just… black. The soundtrack doesn’t do this game any favors, either.
Next.
tl;dr – Knight Terrors is a runner-style game with not much more going for it beyond its retro-style presentation, and even that fails to hit the mark when it comes to nostalgia.
