Golf Peaks is a Puzzle game that uses golf as its aesthetic, but it’s really all about movement. You are trying to get a ball from the tee to the hole using a predetermined selection of strokes, which you can only make in four directions. What strokes do you use in which directions to reach the hole?

It’s a fairly simple and straightforward premise that is gradually complicated as the game goes on by new types of terrain, new types of strokes, and more complex levels. It makes for a decent enough puzzle challenge, but there was nothing here I found especially compelling or noteworthy in the gameplay. It’s… okay.

At the very least, the presentation here is nice, if a bit minimalist. Courses appear as if they were mini-golf courses each perched atop a geometric-shaped mesa, and the game’s sound and music are gentle and easygoing, giving the game a bit of an abstract, mellow feel. Nothing special, but it works well enough.

If you’re a puzzle fan looking for a nice distraction, Golf Peaks manages to hit that spot well enough, but it’s not especially compelling.

tl;dr – Golf Peaks is a Puzzle game where you’re trying to make the right movements to get your ball across varied terrain to the hole. It works well enough, and it has a good presentation, but there’s nothing especially compelling here.
