Review:

Grab Lab is a Puzzle game with Arcade sensibilities where you control a character constantly walking forward, ignoring gravity to walk on walls and ceilings when he gets to them, and the only control you have is to shoot a grappling hook directly above him to walk on whatever is above him. With this as the main gameplay gimmick, you must find a way to move through each of the increasingly complex levels while nabbing the collectables strewn around those levels.

I’ll be honest, this game just didn’t do much for me. It’s perfectly functional, but it never really makes me feel like it does anything truly special to draw me in. The game’s music and visuals are, likewise, fine, but nothing especially engrossing to pull me in.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing especially bad about Grab Lab, there’s just nothing especially good about it either. It’s just okay.

tl;dr – Grab Lab is a Puzzle game with Arcade sensibilities where your character keeps walking forward until you use a grappling hook to rappel to the opposite side of the room. As a puzzle game, it works okay, but doesn’t really do anything especially novel or interesting.

Grade: C
