In-Vert is a challenging Platformer with a mechanic that has you swapping back and forth between two parallel realities to get through obstacles as reach each level’s exit.
Graphically, this game manages to do a lot with very very little. The game uses really simple low-resolution sprite-based graphics, yet the colorful use of contrast makes the game look pretty appealing, and the simplicity keeps the focus on the platforming.
The sound is a bit more of a mixed bag. On the one hand, this game uses a very nice synth soundtrack that works well for the game. On the other hand, the sound effect for swapping realities is a bit annoying, and there’s no sound at all for jumping.
As far as the gameplay goes, once you get an idea what the core concept is about, it’s fairly easy to wrap your head around how to play this game, leaving the gameplay to basically boil down to working your way through the challenging levels. To that end, the gameplay is good, but nothing especially new or extraordinary.
Still, for the low price of $5, In-Vert is a pretty good little Platformer. Nothing about it is especially impressive or original, but it all works well enough and is reasonably enjoyable. If you’re looking to challenge yourself with an inexpensive platformer on the Switch, you could do far worse than In-Vert.
tl;dr – In-Vert is a challenging Platformer that has you swapping between two parallel realities to get past obstacles and reach the exit. It’s a game that doesn’t do anything especially original or extraordinary, but it’s solid enough to be worth the low price tag.
