Review:

Inferno 2 is a 2-Stick Shooter with a slick neon-lit presentation and some gradual progression through the game that starts with your horseshoe-shaped ship feeling pretty powerful, and ramps it up so you keep feeling more powerful as the game goes on.

This has a good side and a bad side. On the one hand, shooting enemies in this game feels great, with responsive controls and tons of enemies onscreen at any given time. On the other hand, this game definitely rests on the low end of the difficulty spectrum even on its hardest difficulty, as even the swarms of enemies constantly attacking you rarely seems like a major threat.

However, it’s hard to complain when the gameplay is this good, and when the game does keep finding ways to shake things up as you go one, regularly giving players new ship upgrades and throwing new enemies in your way. The game’s 2-player co-op is pretty damn good too (although as you’d expect, it can make the game even easier).

Visually, this game looks really good, even if it doesn’t impress on any technical level. It feels very much like the sort of style that films like Tron had, albeit with a simple, straightfoward, clean look that sticks with basic shapes.

Inferno 2 is pretty much exactly what you’d hope for in a game like this – simple, straightforward, good-looking 2-Stick Shooter action. While it may not be quite as challenging as I’d like, it’s still a blast to play and well worth a try for fans of the genre, especially given its low price tag of $5.

tl;dr – Inferno 2 is a straightforward 2-Stick Shooter that has solid gameplay, a slick presentation, and good Co-Op. It’s a bit on the easy side, but fans of the genre will find it to be an excellent choice, especially for its low price tag.
