Review:
Inside Her (Bedroom) is a character-based Puzzle game released on PC in 2020 and ported to Nintendo Switch in 2022. As the name implies, this is an ecchi game (as in, sexual situations and some nudity), in this case having players take the role of a guy helping various monster girls pick up lingerie off the floors of their bedroom before meeting up with them on their bed. As I make it a point to say when it comes to these sorts of games, I don’t have a problem with games that have this sort of content (nor do they particularly appeal to me), and I make it a point to judge them on their merits for what they are.
The presentation here is okay, but not fantastic. The artwork here is decent, but a bit underwhelming when you consider that this is supposed to be the “reward” for completing the game’s puzzles. With the abundance of hentai artwork freely available online, suffice it to say those who are just looking to ogle artwork of sexy monster girls doesn’t need to jump through many hoops outside of this game to satisfy that desire. Beyond the character portrait artwork, the art for the in-game characters is disappointingly simple, designed to look like chibi representations of the game’s characters and pieces on a game board rather than actual characters. This is backed by brief vocalizations for the girls when you mess up and put them in harm’s way, and a soundtrack that’s actually pretty catchy (sorry, I don’t have any samples to share with you).
The gameplay itself is simple, but at least a little creative. Players control their normal human character moving on one side of the screen, and a monster girl mirrors your movements on the other side. Players must guide them both so that they can collect the lingerie strewn about the screen without running into any hazards. This is extraordinarily simple at first, but things gradually get more interesting as you encounter new hazards, and new monster girls with different movement. Some of the later levels can actually get you to stop and think for a bit to figure out how you need to move.
Look, it’s nothing truly revolutionary, but it manages to be interesting, and for a mere $3 you get 120 levels, which is pretty decent. Given how often Ecchi games depend heavily on their sexy elements to paper over the lackluster gameplay, it’s refreshing to find an entry in the genre that actually attempts to have engaging gameplay… and oddly could use a bit more work in its presentation. In the end, I suppose if you’re looking for a fun, inexpensive Puzzle game and don’t mind some shameless pandering and nudity, Inside Her (Bedroom) isn’t a bad choice. On the other hand, if you’re looking for something sexy and titillating, you’re better off just typing something like “sexy nude monster girls” into Google Image search (note: do not do this unless you’re okay with seeing NSFW content… and honestly I really shouldn’t even need to tell you that).
tl;dr – Inside Her (Bedroom) is a character-based Puzzle game with strong ecchi elements. Players control a character whose movements are mirrored by a monster girl, with players guiding both to collect lingerie and reach a bed safely without either one running into hazards. The gameplay here is simple but surprisingly decent. The presentation could do with some work though, which is kinda’ surprising for a game where nude artwork of sexy monster girls is the “reward” for solving the game’s puzzles. In any case, 120 levels for a mere $3 is a pretty decent deal. If you’re a Puzzle game fan who doesn’t mind shameless perviness, you may find this game to your liking.
