Instant Farmer is a family-friendly Puzzle game released on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2021. In this game, players must rearrange square plots of land so that every piece of farm land is adjacent to a water source.

The visuals in this game make use of simple 3D visuals that work well enough for the game, but don’t impress in any way, and the game doesn’t even let you move the camera. These are backed by a piano banjo and harmonica soundtrack that’s fitting to the game’s theme, but can get annoying before too long.

As for the gameplay, this is a fairly straightforward Puzzle game, but it uses its premise well, and as the game’s levels progress, players must make use of new types of tiles to solve puzzles, such as aqueducts that channel water and sprinklers that spray it. The puzzle design here is good, albeit nothing extraordinary.

I should mention that this game’s insistence on using the analog stick and not the D-Pad, along with some stiff cursor controls, makes for some frustrating difficulty simply selecting the tile you want. On the bright side, those who play this game in Portable mode will find that the touchscreen works quite well here, and I would argue is absolutely the best way to play this game.

Overall, Instant Farmer is a decent Puzzle game that makes good use of its premise. At $3 for 50 puzzles, it’s reasonably-priced, and while the gamepad controls are a bit frustrating, the solid touchscreen controls pretty much balance that out. All told, this is a decent addition to your Puzzle collection, albeit not an especially noteworthy one.

tl;dr – Instant Farmer is a Puzzle game that has players rearranging plots of land to make sure all farmland is near a water source. The game makes good use of the premise, and at $3 for 50 Puzzles, this is a decent value. The gamepad controls are a bit frustrating, but if you’re playing with the touchscreen this game works well enough. All told, this is a decent Puzzle game, albeit nothing truly outstanding.
