Review:

Jumping Joe! and Friends is an Arcade-style game played entirely by pressing left or right to jump up. All you need to do is jump in the direction of the safe path, and do it quickly, because a rising tide of lava will catch you if you’re too slow.

It’s a simple game, but to its credit, it does manage to shake things up and add variety, both in the sorts of obstacles you’ll face, as well as the changes in scenery as you progress. That said, in the end you’re still just jumping left or right, nothing else.

And while there’s a fair amount of visual variety here, it’s not anything to write home about – everything here is as simple as the gameplay.

As time-wasters go, Jumping Joe! and Friends is fine, but doesn’t really do anything beyond “fine”. It manages to avoid being monotonous and boring, but not in adding enough variety where it would make this anything more than the briefest of distractions.

tl;dr – Jumping Joe! and Friends is an Acrade-style game where you simply jump up to the left or the right. It works as a time-waster, but lacks any depth or compelling features to keep you playing for more than a few minutes before moving on.
