Review:

Cooking Tycoons is a compilation of three games (Food Truck Tycoon, Burger Chef Tycoon, and Pizza Bar Tycoon), with all three featuring similar Arcade-style gameplay. In fact, with these games being so similar, I re-used parts of the review to review all three, just as these games re-used gameplay:

tl;dr Food Truck Tycoon is an Arcade-style game that doesn’t play much like Overcooked or Cooking Mama. It’s more like a food version of Simon Says, where players respond to orders by selecting the correct ingredients. The gameplay is decent, but this game lacks the variety and options of Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! If you’re looking for an Arcade-style food prep game, I recommend you get that one instead.

The gameplay is decent, but this game is a bit too simplistic, with a lack of variety and options when compared to Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! If you’re looking for an Arcade-style food prep game, I recommend you get that one instead.

Okay, so here’s the short version: This series of games started on the Switch with Food Truck Tycoon, followed by Burger Chef Tycoon and then Pizza Bar Tycoon, and with each game the series became more simple. However, just a few months after Food Truck Tycoon, we saw the release of the very similar game, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!!, which had a great deal more depth, more options, simulation elements, and a multiplayer mode, and while the three Cooking Tycoon games are fine, it kinda’ makes it hard to recommend them when someone else does the same thing but better.

Pairing all three in a bundle reduces the total price of the game by $2, putting it at the same $13 price tag as Cook, Serve 2, and while it’s nice to see the different types of foods represented in these three games, all of them combined still don’t add up to the variety of Cook, Serve, and in fact playing these games together kinda’ shows how very similar all three of them are.

If you like simple, Arcade-style games and feel like you’ll enjoy a Simon Says-style food-theme game, this trilogy of games does a decent enough job of it. However, the looming presence of a game that’s better than all three of these titles, selling for the same price, makes this seem like far less of a deal than it might otherwise.

tl;dr – Cooking Tycoons 3-in-1 Bundle is a Compilation of three Arcade-style restaurant-themed games where players rush to fill the correct orders. It’s decent, but Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! offers more depth and variety in one game than all three of these combined, and at the same price.
