Review:
Crash Dummy is a Platformer where players play as an intelligent crash test dummy sent on a mission to rescue his creator’s daughter…’s consciousness, also in a crash test dummy. Yeah, this game’s story is kinda’ bonkers, with heavy shades of Mega Man, but goofier.
For the gameplay, players will be proceeding through levels, jumping through platforming challenges, and confronting enemies…- with really, really terrible controls. I don’t even know where to start here – the terrible input lag, the way your character moves automatically after landing a jump, the horrible combat, pick one.
The presentation doesn’t do the game any favors, either – the visuals in this game look ugly, and the game’s terrible localization makes its confusing, awkward story even more awkward and confusing.
Perhaps the biggest slap in the face is that Crash Dummy has a $30 price tag, which is… well, insane. Even if this game wasn’t atrociously bad, it’s a game that was at best only ever going to be a budget title, and honestly I wouldn’t say the game is worth one-tenth of the price tag it’s being sold at.
Crash Dummy is a terrible game, with terrible controls, a terrible presentation, and a price tag that feels like an insult. Do not buy it.
tl;dr – Crash Dummy is a Platformer where players play a Crash Test Dummy sent on a rescue mission. It’s also a terrible game with horrible controls, an ugly presentation, and all sorts of problems, and it’s not worth one tenth of its $30 price tag. Do not buy this game.
