Review:

Dead Fun Pack is a compilation game that includes two separate titles: Run Run and Die, which is an Auto-Runner game, and Mutant Alien Moles of the Dead, which is an Arcade-style game.

Run Run and Die has you controlling a penguin as he runs to escape from a scientific research facility. He is constantly moving forward, and you can only control his jump. In a word, this game is terrible. There’s little variety in the gameplay, but far worse is that the difficulty starts set to maximum, with multiple jumps in the first few levels alone that require precision timing and force you to restart if you’re anything less than perfect. In addition, although the gameplay is in 2D, the level design is 3D, and the penguin automatically turns to move along the path, but the camera doesn’t, meaning that the perspective makes it harder to judge jumps in a game that’s already absurdly hard.

tl;drRun Run and Die is an unforgiving Auto-Runner with numerous problems that keep it from being enjoyable.

Mutant Alien Moles of the Dead is an Arcade-style Whack-A-Mole game, and it can only be played by touchscreen. Surprisingly, as a Whack-A-Mole game, this game works fairly well, and even shakes things up with some decent variety throughout. That said, in the end, it is still a Whack-A-Mole game, so it’s not like it’s shooting very high here.

Mutant Alien Moles of the DeadArcade1C+
tl;drMutant Alien Moles of the Dead is an Arcade-style Whack-A-Mole game that does a decent job with what it aims to do, even if what it aims to do isn’t all that much.

Both games have… actually pretty good graphics, but in the end, we’re talking about a very simple game and a game that’s just plain bad. Graphics aren’t going to make much of a difference here.

In the end, Dead Fun Pack is a two-pack where only one of the two games is worth bothering with, and it’s a game that can only be played with a touchscreen, and it’s not an especially compelling game either. Probably it’s better to avoid this one.

tl;dr – Dead Fun Pack is a compilation of two games – a terrible Auto-Runner, and a decent Wack-A-Mole game. There’s just not much here to make this package worthwhile.

Grade: D+
