Doggie Ninja: The Golden Mission
Genre: Arcade
Players: 1-4 Competitive (Local)

Review:
Doggie Ninja is an Arcade-style game that’s reminiscent of the Wrecking Crew level from the last few Super Smash Bros. games. Players play as one of the titular doggie ninjas as they grab and toss gold blocks to demolish them and collect coins, and must evade the falling floors once they’re no longer being supported from below. The player with the most coins by the time the level’s timer is up wins.
This game offers three “castles” to play in. The first one is the standard game, the second one has occasional “iron” blocks that demolish multiple other blocks when tossed, and the third one has bomb blocks that explode an area when tossed.
The gameplay in this game can get pretty frantic, and there’s a good amount of manic fun to be had, as well as a bit of strategy in deciding whether to go after gold blocks, or try to undermine the other players. As a fun little multiplayer arcade-style minigame, this is pretty good.
As its own standalone experience though, this game is seriously lacking in content. The game only allows for four-player play, with any smaller number of players automatically replacing empty slots with bots. Players cannot adjust the timer or make any sort of handicap. Furthermore, there’s no sort of progression or campaign or anything like that – the simple three modes you get at the start is all you’re getting.
The presentation here is fine, but unspectacular. The doggie ninjas all look appropriately cute, and everything is presented in a more or less clear manner, but on no level does this game impress.
In the end, Doggie Ninja is a decent little distraction, with some fun multiplayer mayhem, but the game is far too content-poor to be anything more than a short-lived diversion.
tl;dr – Doggie Ninja is an Arcadey multiplayer game where players break blocks to get gold while avoiding falling floors. it’s some decent fun mayhem if you have multiple players, but the game is severely lacking in content and options, and as a result this won’t be likely to keep you entertained for long before you move on.
