Faith & Shield: Tower Defense Space Wars Game 2022

Review:
Faith & Shield (yeah, there’s no way I’m going to keep repeating “Tower Defense Space Wars Game 2022” throughout this review) is at least nominally a Tower Defense game released on Nintendo Switch in 2022.
I say “nominally” because this game is unplayable. Upon starting the game, players are presented with the game’s first map, some on-screen controls to zoom in and out, change the speed, and start the first run (controls you can evidently only use via touchscreen), and that’s it. I tried pressing every button, I tried using the touchscreen to tap everything I could see, nothing gave me the option to interact with it or build one of the towers this game is supposedly all about building.
It’s disappointing, because the presentation is at least decent, with what seems to be decent 2D visuals from an isometric point of view and a nice, moody soundtrack. But… yeah, nothing that changes the fact that this is a broken, unplayable game.
I suppose the ungainly title should’ve been a dead giveaway that Faith & Shield would be a disaster of a game, but I try to give every game the benefit of the doubt. This game did not deserve that benefit.
tl;dr – Faith & Shield is at least nominally a futuristic Tower Defense game, but it is completely unplayable, with no apparent ability to build said towers or interact with the game in any meaningful way. Stay far away from this one.
