Review:
Airport Flight Administrator Simulator & Air Traffic-Sky Airplane Sim Plane Games (from here on simply referred to as Airport Flight Administrator Simulator) is a Minigame Collection containing multiple simple minigames at least nominally based on different jobs at an airport. This game was released on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2022, with the Nintendo Switch version only playable using touchscreen controls.
The presentation in this game absolutely screams “mobile game”, with its generic-looking, cartoony visuals, and its extremely annoying plunky saccharine background music that never stops, and will push you to mute this game not long after starting it.
The game itself consists of 8 minigames that generally involve using the touchscreen to perform simple tasks or sort things into one of a few different categories. While the jobs are supposedly related to the running of an airport, the connection here can often be rather tenuous, with one minigame involving taking orders at an airport restaurant that plays pretty much exactly like every other “restaurant tycoon” game on the Nintendo Switch, and another minigame that involves shopping for select items on a shopping list… that doesn’t really seem to have anything to do with airports or flying.
Most of the minigames here are fairly short and offer little to no replay value, with the game not having any progression or keeping any sort of score. The one game that does have progression, revolving around determining the flight plans for multiple color-coded planes, just amounts to a simple Numberlink puzzle with 20 levels that can easily be completed in 2-3 minutes. Overall, players can see pretty much everything this game has to offer in about 15-20 minutes.
It’s not a very good 15-20 minutes, either. The touchscreen controls here are pretty awful. Sometimes items you need to select are too close together, making it exceedingly difficult to select the one you want. At other times, the game demands absolute perfection in selecting what you want to interact with. Even the game’s menus suffer from this, making it difficult to even start a minigame.
Overall, I think an airport-themed Minigame Collection like this could have been fun, but it would have needed to offer players some sort of reason to come back to these games after playing them once, and Airport Flight Administrator Simulator offers no reason to do so. In fact, with the terrible controls and awful presentation, it offers players plenty of reasons not to bother playing this game at all. Skip it.
tl;dr – Airport Flight Administrator Simulator is an Arcade-style Minigame Collection where players can play one of multiple minigames at least loosely based on airports (in some cases, extremely loosely). This Compilation requires players to use the touchscreen to play, but features terrible touchscreen controls, and there’s no hint of any sort of real progression or scorekeeping here, giving players no reason to play this game after trying out all its minigames. I suggest you do yourself one better and don’t try it at all.
