Review:

Arcade Space Shooter 2 in 1, released on Nintendo Switch in 2021, is a Compilation of Space Smash and Space War Infinity, two games originally released individually on PC in 2019.

Here is what I thought of each of the games in this collection:

tl;dr Space Smash plays like a low-budget, less-impressive and less-varied version of Geometry Wars, with enemy AI that’s less interesting than Geometry Wars. However, that’s not to say Space Smash lacks originality – it features a unique gimmick where deadly electrical walls are gradually closing in on the player, and they must collecti pickups from enemies to drive them back. Overall, this game makes for a decent low-cost alternative for those itching to play something like this.
Space War Infinity	Shmup	1	C
tl;dr Space War is a Shmup that’s not bad, not great, and doesn’t do anything particularly interesting or original within the genre. If you’re looking for a cheap Shmup to kill time between other games, this will get the job done.

Between the two games, Space Smash is the real star here, though Space War adds a little extra variety to this package too, so it’s a welcome inclusion even if it’s the less-interesting of the two games.

Well, I say Space Smash is the star, but really the main attraction to this package is its price. At $4, Arcade Space Shooter 2 in 1 is a steal, and while there are certainly better alternatives to both of these games on Nintendo Switch, this Compilation gives those other games some solid competition in the “bang for your buck” category.

Will Space Smash become your favorite 2-Stick Shooter? Probably not. Will Space War Infinity become your favorite Shmup? I sincerely doubt it. However, these games are both at least decent, and with a $4 price tag, Arcade Space Shooter 2 in 1 is well worth getting. It may not be the best, but it’s definitely worth the price.

tl;dr – Arcade Space Shooter 2 in 1 is a Compilation of the Arcade-style 2-Stick Shooter, Space Smash, and the Shmup, Space War Infinity. Space Smash is a solid low-budget alternative to games like Geometry Wars, and Space War Infinity is a decent but uninspired entry in its genre. However, while neither game on its own is likely to turn heads, the combination of the two in a $4 package is very enticing, and this Compilation is well worth that price.
