ATV Drift & Tricks is an Arcade-style Racing game with ATVs, with gameplay that uses a trick-boost system and tracks in various unusual locations.

There’s quite a lot to like about this game. Firstly, this game’s trick-boost system is pretty unique and actually really fun and challenging, with players given a timed prompt when they land or do a wheelie that they can time a button press to increase their boost further. Likewise, I really like this game’s course design – the levels here are really imaginative, with players racing under a freeway in one stage, and in an airplane boneyard in another. When it comes to the core gameplay of this game, I find ATV Drift & Tricks to be a delightful surprise.

But despite the good foundation this game has in its great gameplay, it completely falls flat in other areas. Firstly, the game features a pretty short campaign. What’s worse, there is no multiplayer whatsoever here, really limiting just how long you’ll be playing the game. A racing game without multiplayer is always a disappointment, but even more so if the single-player campaign isn’t meaty enough to pick up the slack.

However, as disappointing as the lack of multiplayer is, I’d say it’s the presentation that really hurts this game the most. While the game does have some good lighting, the textures are ugly, there’s some nasty pop-in, and in busier areas the framerates are pretty terrible. On top of this, the game’s sounds aren’t especially impressive, and the races play out without any music.

I’m really sad that ATV Drift & Tricks didn’t get the polish and features it needed to really capitalize on the great gameplay and track design that’s here, because the core gameplay here is fantastic. But with the terrible graphics and lack of multiplayer, among other issues, I just can’t recommend this game.

tl;dr – ATV Drift & Tricks is an Arcade-Style ATV Racing game with a unique trick-boost system. The core gameplay here is fantastic, and I love the track design, but the short campaign, lack of multiplayer, and awful graphics result in a game that fails to live up to its potential.
