Review:

Balance Blox is a Puzzle game in the “match 3” vein, where you’re dropping colored blocks in columns to create rows or columns of 3. The catch is that the entire game board is balanced on a fulcrum, and the weight the blocks add causes the entire stage to see-saw back and forth. Let it tip too much in an direction and you lose.

It’s an interesting take on the formula, but that’s about all I can say for it. This twist doesn’t really add much fun to the game, just another element to worry about, making you rush and fumble, or pile a lot of junk blocks on one side to try to balance the stage out.

As for the presentation, it’s… fine. There’s not much personality here, but it gets the job done.

That’s about all I can say about Balance Blox. It doesn’t exactly have a wealth of options or any sort of great hook. As a puzzle game it works, more or less, but it’s not especially fun to play and there’s little here to make you want to come back to it.

tl;dr – Balance Blox is a Puzzle game of the standard “match 3” variety, but here you have to watch the way the stage is balanced as you place blocks. It’s an interesting concept, but one that adds more frustration and tedium than fun, and there’s little else here to keep you interested.
