Review:
Black Jack World Tour is a version of the classic Card Game released on Nintendo Switch in 2021. As this game is a classic card game and likely older than anyone currently reading this review, I’ll be focusing mainly on the presentation, features, options, and performance of this game.
The presentation here is sufficient, but nothing special. A fairly standard-looking blackjack table, standard-looking cards, acceptable card and chip noises, crowd “ooh” and “aww” noises when you win or lose a hand, and fitting but not very noteworthy elevator music… there’s nothing bad here, but absolutely nothing that stands out.
The controls here work well enough, but are extremely limited. This game only works with Joy-Cons, either connected to the Switch in handheld mode or on their own in docked mode. You cannot play this game with a Pro Controller or with touchscreen controls, which seems like a frustrating omission.
As for the gameplay… well, it’s blackjack. There aren’t any options here, no multiplayer play, nothing except you, $500 in chips, and a personality-free dealer. All this for $4 is… okay, but not exactly the deal of the century. You’re paying a fairly minimal price for a sufficient but bare-bones version of Blackjack.
There’s not much else to say here beyond that. This game is lacking in options and features, but other than that it’s a perfectly fine representation of the card game for a low price. If you’re looking for Blackjack and only Blackjack on the Nintendo Switch… well, this is that.
tl;dr – Black Jack World Tour is a bare-bones version of Blackjack that’s a decent enough representation of the card game, but it lacks multiplayer or any sort of opinions or features, and it won’t recognize the touchscreen or a Pro controller. However, if you’re just looking for an inexpensive Blackjack game on Nintendo Switch, this should suffice.
