Review:

Bubble Shooter DX is a Puzzle game where you aim and shoot bubbles at similarly-colored bubbles to try to match them, clearing them away, along with any other bubbles beneath them. This game is basically a carbon copy of the Puzzle Bobble formula. The question is, is it a good copy?

No. No, it is not.

To be clear, it functions fine. Controls work fine, the gameplay works well enough, but everything else is completely stripped away. There’s no multiplayer, and more to the point there’s no personality here.

The game’s visuals are fine. They’re clean, which is nice… but there’s absolutely no style here, nothing at all to make this memorable. Same goes for sound – this is an eerily quiet game, with no stage music and minimal sound effects.

If you’re absolutely desperate for a Puzzle Bobble clone and only have three bucks, Bubble Shooter DX at least gets the core gameplay right. But since you can get one of the ACA Neo Geo Bubble Bobble games on the eShop for a few bucks more… I mean, why wouldn’t you?

tl;dr – Bubble Shooter DX is a Puzzle game where you shoot colored bubbles at other bubbles to match them and clear them. It’s basically a generic Puzzle Bobble game, but it’s lacking multiplayer mode, stage music, and any semblance of a personality. If you really want a game like this, you’re better off getting one of the ACA Neo Geo Puzzle Bobble games.
