Review:
Burnstar is a character-based puzzle game where players control one of a group of four characters in a squad sent to blast and burn away a toxic purple goo that has been dumped all over the landscape.
The gameplay is a bit reminiscent of Bomberman, but this is no party game – your bomb supply is extremely limited in each level (in fact, you have none until you collect them), and you must position them correctly to be sure to clear the level.
The four playable characters each have different ways of getting past enemies, but otherwise are relatively interchangeable. The gameplay itself doesn’t do anything truly outstanding, and the graphics are sufficient but nothing to write home about. All in all, this is a pretty straightforward puzzle game that doesn’t do anything especially great or especially terrible… so I have very little else noteworthy to write about it.
tl;dr – Burnstar is a puzzle game where you are bombing and burning your way through puzzles. It does nothing especially bad or especially noteworthy. It’s okay.
