Calculator, released on Nintendo Switch in 2021 is… well, a scientific calculator application. This is pretty much exactly what you expect, nothing more and nothing less.

You cannot set options or alter the (frankly quite ugly) color scheme, cannot mute or change the subdued sounds, cannot alter the layout, and you definitely cannot use this as a graphing calculator. As for what it can do, you can use the touchscreen to press the buttons, or use the analog stick to move a cursor, which works well enough.

I’m not going to get into all the memes and stuff about this. I’m also going to give you no illusions about the utility of this thing – you likely already have access to countless better apps on your PC and phone… with one built into the platform, no less. However, if you wanted a calculator on your Nintendo Switch for some reason… this is that.

tl;dr – Calculator is… just that, a scientific calculator Application, nothing more. It works well enough for what it is, but there are no bells, whistles, or options. And you’ll probably get more use out of software already on your phone or PC. But if for some reason you want a calculator on your Nintendo Switch… this is a calculator on your Nintendo Switch.
