Review:

Card Game Bundle Vol. 1 is a collection of two card-based games from publisher Digerati. I have reviewed these games separately. Here were my thoughts:

tl;dr Frost is a Card Game where players guide a band of people through the wilderness to shelter, evading the encroaching threat of the coming frost. It’s a great concept, and the presentation is good, but the gameplay itself is far too overrun with randomized elements out of the player’s control, making for a game that just isn’t very fun to play.
Monster Slayers	Turn-Based Card RPG / Roguelike	1	B-
tl;dr Monster Slayers is a game that combines a Card Battle RPG with Roguelike elements. It does a goob job balancing player utility and the Roguelike elements, but unfortunately it stumbles when it comes to the way it presents information to the player, and the presentation feels pretty generic.

So the bright side here is that both of these games are very different from one another, even though they share the card thing in common. Also, Monster Slayers is a pretty good game, although it stands in the shadow of the very similar (and much better) Slay the Spire. However, that’s where the good news ends.

Firstly, with only two games included, there’s less to play here than Digerati’s other collections. What’s worse, buying this bundle at full price only saves you $3 over the cost of getting these games separately. And as if that wasn’t enough to settle it, the better of the two games in this bundle, Monster Slayers, is also in the overall better (but still not fantastic) Nerdook Bundle Vol. 1.

In short, there’s very little reason to go for this collection unless you know you absolutely want both of these games. For most, I’d say you’re better off going for the Nerdook Bundle, or simply buying Monster Slayers on its own… or even better, get Slay the Spire instead.

tl;dr – Card Game Bundle Vol. 1 is a collection of Frost and Monster Slayers, both different types of Card Game. Unfortunately, Frost isn’t very fun, and Monsters Slayers is already in another better bundle. There’s simply not much reason to get this bundle when you have multiple better options.
