Review:

Catch a Duck is a family-friendly character-based Puzzle game where you play as a fox looking to catch the duck in each level while evading predators, traps, and hunters. There are elements of Stealth games here too, though these elements are pretty light. Mostly you’re trying to outsmart both predators and prey to accomplish your goal.

The presentation here is probably the best part of the game. The game is presented in a cartoony style that’s very whimsical, but the real star here is the sounds, with all of this game’s sound effects and animal noises very clearly just being made by some guy making silly noises. This only adds to the game’s silly presentation and frequently I found these silly noises putting a smile on my face as I played.

As for the rest of the game… well, it’s a character-based Puzzle game. The enemy AI isn’t especially smart or nuanced (though I do appreciate that animals fight with and hunt each other when they’re not hunting or evading you), the levels and not especially clever, and the gameplay is not especially deep. It’s all fine, just nothing especially noteworthy.

And that’s pretty much all I have to say about Catch a Duck. It’s a decent if unspectacular Puzzle game that is saved from being completely forgettable thanks to its amusing presentation. If you’re a fan of the genre, you might find this to be worth your time, but otherwise there’s not much here that I feel demands to be played.

tl;dr – Catch a Duck is a character-based Puzzle game where you navigate mazes while evading predators to catch the duck in each level. It’s not a very original or noteworthy game, save for its amusing presentation.
