Review:
Chickens Madness is a Party Game released on multiple platforms in 2020, including Nintendo Switch. This game has you playing chickens competing in a small collection of minigames.
In terms of presentation, Chickens Madness looks okay. There are some decent 3D models here, some nice environmental details, and some okay lighting effects. This is paired with a lighthearted soundtrack and a lot of chicken clucking.
No, the problems here aren’t with the visuals, they’re with the gameplay. The game touts 30 playable minigames here, and I swear, every singly minigame my group tried had terrible, laggy controls, controls that didn’t respond properly to button presses, and character movement that felt like trying to move a truck on a road covered in ice. Many games had attack moves that knocked out other players – invariably, these knockouts seem to last interminably long, yet the controls are so terrible that players remaining unfazed won’t be able to capitalize on this.
This is a terrible, terrible game, and what’s more, it’s being sold for $15, which is outrageous for a game with controls this outright broken. It may look like a decent game, but looks can be deceiving. Do not buy this one.
tl;dr – Chicken Madnesss is a Party game where players control chickens in a series of minigames. The controls here are so outright awful in every game I tested that there was simply no fun to be had here. Do not buy this game.
