Review:

#RaceDieRun is a Futuristic Racing game where players aren’t racing against other players or computer-controlled racers, but instead race against the clock while trying to avoid obstacles.

Graphically, this game looks excellent, with smooth framerates at high speeds and slick-looking futuristic cityscapes. While not quite on par with the likes of games like Fast RMX, this game nevertheless looks excellent.

As for the gameplay… I’m afraid I can’t be quite as enthusiastic. Of course, the lack of any opponents or multiplayer mode is disappointing for any racing game, but that’s the least of this game’s problems. Control over your racer feels stiff and unresponsive, at least until you use a shoulder button, which shifts the player quickly to the left and right… but in this case, it feels like too much, too fast, and it’s hard to anticipate just where a tap of a shoulder button will place you.

This leads to the game’s absolute worst problem – crashing, dying, and restarting. While “Die” is right there in the title, it’s still frustrating how frequently players will die in this game. Even the slightest collision with an object will result in an instant death, which restarts you back at the very beginning of a course. Given the high speeds as this game pushes players to try to blast through its levels, it just feels like frustrating repetitive punishment until you manage to luck out and not crash in time for the level’s end.

As a result, I simply could not have fun playing #RaceDieRun. Despite its nice visuals, this game is punishing to the point of being tedious, and I would only recommend it to the most masochistic of racing game fans.

tl;dr – #RaceDieRun is a Futuristic Racing game with slick graphics that has you racing against the clock… and dying many, many, many times as you attempt to speed through its levels. This is a gruelling, punishing game, and only the most patient of racing game fans will enjoy it.
