Review:
Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus Double Pack, released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2022 and ported to Nintendo Switch in 2023, is a Compilation of the two named games, both Management Simulations, released in 2020 and 2022, respectively. I should note that this bundle contains the “Jumbo Edition” of Two Point Hospital, released in 2021, which contains added content.
I have previously reviewed both of these games. Here is what I thought of both of the games in this collection:
| Game | Genre | # of Players | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two Point Hospital | Management Simulation | 1 | B- |
tl;drTwo Point Hospital is a solid Management Sim that follows in the footsteps of Theme Hospital and provides a solid entry in the genre with a great presentation, albeit one with some flaws and frustrations that mar an otherwise excellent experience. Still, for fans of the genre, this game is still well worth checking out. | |||
| Two Point Campus | Management Simulation | 1 | C+ |
tl;drTwo Point Campus is a Management Simulation and a follow-up to Two Point Hospital, but with players managing a whimsical college campus instead of a whimsical medical facility. This is mostly a solid entry in the genre, but it’s poorly-optimized for Nintendo Switch, doesn’t do enough to distance itself from its predecessor, and doesn’t fix the issues its predecessor had. Between the two, I recommend you play Two Point Hospital first, and only if you’re still craving more of the same should you proceed on to Two Point Campus. | |||
In short, these are two decent Management Simulations, though both are far from perfect, and after Two Point Hospital, Two Point Campus seemed like “more of the same”, and not in a good way. Still, if you’re looking for Management Simulation games on Nintendo Switch, this is a decent bundle to get as far as content goes.
So of course then we come to the price, things look pretty good here, cutting down the $80 price to get the games separately to $60, which is a pretty excellent savings over getting them separately. I should note that the sale prices for the individual games have gone as low as $8 and $14, while this bundle has not yet gone on sale on Nintendo Switch, though other platforms have seen sales of this bundle going as low as $15, so hopefully the Nintendo Switch version is just lagging behind, since it’s getting this bundle a year later than those platforms got it.
In the end, Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus Double Pack is a package that pairs two decent (but not spectacular) Management Simulations in a bundle that offers a decent discount… as long as you’re not looking at sale prices. We can hope that changes in the future, but until then, you can look at this bundle as a decent deal, but thrifty shoppers will definitely want to keep their eyes out for a sale.
tl;dr – Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus Double Pack is a Compilation containing the two named games, both Management Simulations. These are both good but imperfect entries in the genre, and Two Point Hospital is the Jumbo version, including all the extra content. The bundle is a good price too, though players looking to save the most money will want to compare sale prices of the individual games.
