Review:

#1 Pastime Bundle is a Compilation of three Puzzle games released on Nintendo Switch in 2022, with the respective games previously released separately in 2021.

I have separately reviewed all of these games. Here is what I thought of all of the games in this collection:

GameGenre# of PlayersScore
#1 AnagramsPuzzle1C
tl;dr#1 Anagrams is a Puzzle game that has players creating as many words as they can using a selection of a few letters. The presentation isn’t great and the controls are clunky, but overall this is a decent Puzzle game, albeit one that’s widely available on mobile devices. However, if you want a version of the game on Nintendo Switch, this works.
#1 CrosswordsCrossword Puzzle1D
tl;dr#1 Crosswords is a Crossword Puzzle game that does just about everything wrong. Bad presentation, bad controls, bad menus, bad puzzle design, bad game design. You don’t have many good choices for Crossword Puzzles on Nintendo Switch, but even so, fans of these sorts of puzzles should avoid this game.
#1 SudokusSudoku Puzzle1C-
tl;dr#1 Sudokus is a Sudoku Puzzle game that may claim to be #1, offering 243 puzzles for $4 and including a few nice features like optional touchscreen controls. However, ultimately this game is not even a contender for best Sudoku game on the platform. With distracting visuals, lacking options, and gameplay that often feels like the game is solving the puzzles for you, this Sudoku game is simply a disappointment.

In short, none of these are an especially great take on the genre in question, and #1 Crosswords in particular is miserable. Meanwhile, #1 Anagrams is decent, but nothing special – you can find numerous games exactly like it on mobile devices.

In terms of value, the $8 price is basically cutting out one-third of the overall price tag compared to the cost of getting these games separately. That is a pretty decent deal if you’re really wanting to get these games.

However, that “if” is doing a fair amount of heavy lifting here. Again, none of these games are great, and I recommend you look elsewhere for better alternatives. However, if you really want to get these specific games, #1 Pastime Bundle is the best way to do that.

tl;dr – #1 Pastime Bundle is a Compilation containing three Puzzle games: #1 Anagrams, #1 Crosswords, and #1 Sudokus. None of these games is especially great, and while this bundle does offer some decent savings over the price of getting these games separately, I don’t know that $8 for three sub-par games really sounds all that much better than $12 for three sub-par games.
