Review:

TT Collection, released on Nintendo Switch in 2023, is a Compilation of the first three games in the TT Isle of Man series, all three being Simulation-style Motorcycle Racing games released separately on Nintendo Switch from 2019 through 2023.

I have separately reviewed all of these games. Here is what I thought of all of the games in this collection:

GameGenre# of PlayersScore
TT Isle of ManMotorcycle Racing1-2 Competitive (Local Split-Screen), 2-8 Competitive (Online)D+
tl;drTT Isle of Man is a Simulation-style Motorcycle Racing Game that’s already extremely niche and not accessible to newcomers due to its difficult and unforgiving gameplay, but then makes things worse with blurry, muddy visuals on Nintendo Switch that make the game even harder to play. The result is an absolute mess that only the most dedicated fans of the genre on Nintendo Switch will want to mess with.

tl;drTT 2 is a Simulation-style Motorcycle Racing Game that’s extremely niche and not accessible to newcomers due to its difficult and unforgiving gameplay, but at the very least this release greatly improves on the horrible visuals that plagued the first game, though this still isn’t especially great. Overall, this is a game that may appeal to fans of this specific genre, but everyone else is best off leaving this alone.
TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3Motorcycle Racing1-10 Competitive (Online)C+
tl;drTT 3 is a Simulation-style Motorcycle Racing Game that’s extremely niche and not accessible to newcomers due to its difficult and unforgiving gameplay, but for those who enjoy the series this is clearly the best entry yet, with an ambitious open-ended world design, improved load times, and more reasonable pricing on Nintendo Switch. If you’re not a fan of this genre, this game won’t change that. But if these games appeal to you, you may find this is worth a look.

In short, all three of these games are extremely niche, punishing games that most players are not likely to enjoy, and the first game in the series is particularly terrible thanks to some really poor performance on Nintendo Switch. Now, to the series’ credit, I believe that each successive game improves on its predecessor, but even with TT 3, I think that these games are still extremely inaccessible to most players, and graphically inferior to the MotoGP franchise.

So then we come to a question of value, and right from the start I have to note the caveat that the first two games in this series are ludicrously overpriced on Nintendo Switch, so even comparing this bundle to the individual prices doesn’t really tell the whole story. I suppose, if you looked at those separate prices and added them up to $160, then this bundle’s $100 price tag will seem like a bargain, but that bargain looks far less impressive when you see that getting the individual games on any other platform will only cost $110.

Then, of course, there’s the sale prices, since the individual games do go on sale regularly. Adding up the sale prices, you’re looking at $42 to buy these games separately, compared to $30 for the bundle, which is actually a pretty decent savings. In short, if you get this bundle, you should definitely get it on sale.

Still, that’s if you even want to get these games at all. Yes, Racing Simulation games on Nintendo Switch are in short supply, but even players looking for a realistic Racing game should be extremely hesitant to get this trio of games. And if you are a fan of the genre, you still might find the MotoGP games to be more deserving of your interest. I won’t go as far as to say that no one out there will enjoy this bundle, but if you’re not sure if these games are for you, it’s safest to assume they’re probably not for you.

tl;dr – TT Collection is a Compilation containing the first three games in the TT Isle of Man series of Simulation-style Motorcycle Racing games. These games are extremely niche and punishing in a way that most players won’t enjoy, the series isn’t as polished as the MotoGP games, and as a bundle the savings here is moderate at best. A select few players may find this bundle worth getting, but the overwhelming majority of players are better off skipping it.
