Review:
Extreme Bike X is a Motorbike Racing game released on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2022, evidently aiming to be something like a budget entry in the genre.
This certainly shows in the presentation, which uses simple 3D visuals with muddy textures, resulting in a look that would have been dated three generations ago. This is joined by unconvincing engine sounds and loud, repetitive electric guitar music that gets annoying before long.
When it comes to the gameplay, there’s no nuance to be found here. Just hold down the gas button, and maybe brake to take particularly tight turns. There’s supposedly some sort of trick system here, but the game won’t show the controls, and I couldn’t find anything like that, but it’s easy enough to win races without it. I suppose I should also note that there’s a custom course builder too, but it’s extremely rudimentary, with only a dozen or so pieces to use and little else you can change about a course.
Despite this game having a fairly low price tag just over $7, it still feels overpriced. The presentation is dated, the gameplay is simple, and there’s just not enough of anything here to latch on to. The Nintendo Switch has plenty of better Motorbike Racing games, go for something else instead.
tl;dr – Extreme Bike X is a Motorbike Racing game with extremely ugly, dated visuals and extremely simple, boring gameplay. Even the low $7 price tag seems far too overpriced for this.
