Review:

World Spin is an Arcade-style game released in 2023 on PC and Nintendo Switch. This game has players spinning around each level, using gravity to get a ball to a button that must be pressed.

The presentation here is extremely simple, using flat 2D shapes for the ball, button, and the levels, backed by energetic music that works well enough for the game but isn’t especially memorable.

As for the gameplay, if you read the opening paragraph above, you have a pretty good idea of how this game play. Players can use the L and R buttons to spin the level, or they may opt to use the left and right sides of the touchscreen if they prefer. And gradually levels introduce new elements to add variety. However, even with this, this game is extremely straightforward and often far too simple and easy.

At the very least there is some challenge to be found in trying to beat your best times, or playing in multiplayer to compete against friends. There’s also a level builder here. But overall, the levels are too small and the few ideas this game has are repeated too much to make it particularly interesting.

If you can get World Spin on sale at a decent price, it may make for a decent time-waster. But even for $5, this game seems overpriced given how simple it is. It’s not bad, but there’s just not enough here to hold your interest.

tl;dr – World Spin is an Arcade-style game where players spin around each level to try to get a ball to a button as fast as possible. This works, and may suffice as a time-waster, but this game is far too simple and too easy to be anything more than that.

Grade: C
