I always worry about reviewing Nintendo Switch carrying cases because I feel like what I’m saying ultimately just boils down to a list of what it offers, rather than a judgment on how good it is. That is because even more so than most other pieces of hardware, carrying cases are often a matter of personal preference.
To explain what I mean, when I take my Nintendo Switch on the go, I often use a simple Nintendo Switch case that protects the unit from scratches, but does little beyond that. That’s because I keep my Nintendo Switch in a bag where there just isn’t room for a big, bulky case. On the other hand, if I’m bringing the Nintendo Switch on a long trip, I might use something like the Magictodoor Locking Carry Case, which has a ton of space for accessories like the Pro controllers that are my preferred way to play. I don’t think either of these is an inherently better type of case, they each just serve a different purpose.
The FYY Switch Case, originally released in 2024, is something between those two extremes – a mid-size carrying case. It’s not so big that you’ll be able to fit your entire collection of various accessories in there, but it’s not so small that it’s just a layer of fabric to cover your screen and little else.

Measuring 10.5″x5.1″x2.5″ according to the Amazon listing, this case seems to roughly triple the bulk of the Nintendo Switch or Switch OLED model. It’s not quite so big as to be cumbersome, but it’s a noticeable difference. However, in exchange for that extra bulk you get space in a mesh zippered compartment to store multiple Joy-Cons or other small accessories (no Pro Controllers though), as well as multiple slim central pieces that store a decent 35 games. Sadly, as with most cases like this, the way the games are stored means you won’t be able to see what they are until you take them out.

The case’s exterior boasts firm outer shell that seems to be made of some sort of slightly-pliable foam or plastic. I imagine this will help somewhat against bumps and jostles as you bring it around, but I wouldn’t trust it so far as to deliberately drop it with my Nintendo Switch inside.

There is one extra feature here that’s a nice touch – the inside section of the case can make use of the part that holds your came cards and a Velcro strap to become a makeshift kickstand. This is particularly useful for those who own the original Nintendo Switch model, which had an absolutely miserable kickstand.

Finally, for extra storage of… whatever… you also get a small grey velvet-like cloth drawstring bag. This doesn’t seem to be for anything specific, but it’s a nice little addition all the same.
Selling at about $23, the FYY Switch Case seems like a pretty decent all-around mid-range Nintendo Switch case. There’s nothing here truly spectacular, and I feel like the protective padding seems a bit weaker than I’d like, but overall this seems like a good value for the price.
tl;dr – The FYY Switch Case is a mid-size Nintendo Switch carrying case that can house your Switch, 35 games, a few small accessories or Joy-Cons, and it even acts as a nice substitute for your Nintendo Switch’s kickstand. I suspect the protective padding isn’t quite as protective as I’d like it to be, but overall this is a pretty solid middle-of-the-road case for your Nintendo Switch.
