Review:

Frozen Honey ASMR, released on mobile devices in 2021 and ported to Nintendo Switch in 2024, is an odd game that’s sorta’ a Simulation but mostly just a play space for players to create their own “frozen honey” treats for an unending line of customers.

For those who aren’t familiar with it, frozen honey is exactly what it sounds like – you take honey, squeeze it into an empty water bottle, and freeze it, and once it’s done it’s squeezed out of the bottle as a mostly-solid viscous ooze of sugary tastiness that’s sure to get the diabetes going. Apparently, this became a minor trend a few years back, though I guess I missed it.

In this game, players go through much the same process as above – you pour one or more of many colored honeys into a bottle, possibly dropping in some candies, and then you shake the bottle up by wiggling the analog stick, hold the A button to freeze it, then see the results as the customer tries it and either likes it enough to take a selfie while eating it, or hates it and vomits. Then the next one walks up and requests what they like and you do it all over again.

That’s it. That’s pretty much the entire game.

The customers are represented by decent but unimpressive 3D character models, while the honey itself looks… fine, I guess, but hardly as tantalizing as the real thing. This is all backed by an extremely repetitive upbeat theme that you’ll be sick of soon after it starts.

There’s just not enough to Frozen Honey ASMR to make this a particularly engaging game. There’s no real challenge here – people ask you for their specific order, you do it as instructed, and move on to the next, that’s it. There’s no time limit, no puzzle, no skill involved. As such, I can’t see myself recommending this game to anyone. There’s just not enough game here.

tl;dr – Frozen Honey ASMR is an odd game that’s sorta’ a Simulation but mostly just a play space for players to create their own “frozen honey” treats for an unending line of customers. Unfortunately, there’s no skill involved here, just repeating the same motions over and over again. Skip this one.
